What is a Continuous Glucose Monitor?
It is a device that is used to measure glucose levels in real time, day and night.
It basically consists of a subcutaneous glucose sensor with the size of a thick hair, a transmitter and a receiving device that displays glucose measurements every 5 minutes and the trend arrow indicating the direction and rate of change of glucose and the latest data in graphical format
The receiving device can be a dedicated receiver or a compatible mobile phone.
Mobile devices in turn allow data to be forwarded to be shared by people in the family environment or other caregivers.
