1. COPD: The preliminary result suggests that in COPD patients who survive AHRF after treatment with acute NIV, continuation with home NIV is associated with a reduced risk of recurrent AHRF when compared with control. This study lends support to the use of home NIV in the management of the subgroup of COPD patients who have survived an episode of AHRF.

In summary, flow-targeted dynamic BPAP effectively suppresses apneas and hypopneas in chronic heart failure (CHF) patients with residual Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) – central sleep apnea (CSA) receiving conventional CPAP/BPAP therapy.
